Made by recycling colorful beverage boxes, one encounters this work while climbing up the Samsung Mountain. Using contemporary materials, this work res a pagoda which may have existed in this site a long time ago, the area having been the center of Buddhism. The curved wall surrounding the space is made by stacking plastic boxes of five different colors, is lit by lightings installed on the ceiling. On sunny days the interior of the work fills up with the sunlight penetrating the boxes. The artists noted that a pagoda is a place of modesty, sadness, spiritual energy, faithhope towards lifenature, regardless of viewers religion. However, they believed that it would be impossible to bring spiritual energy of the past back to the present, by simply replicating traditional formsusing materials from the past. Rather, they wished this piece of architecture neither a Buddhist pagoda nor a Catholic cathedral transmit spiritual energy to the viewers, just as the lost pagoda has done.
