Deep Listening Anyang Residency 딥 리스닝 안양 래지던시

APAP that has been working majorly on urban development including architecture, public sculpture, urban design, and public art projects that are directly and indirectly related wanted to extend the range of the method and medium of creation, and experiment a new form that a participant can be proactively involved in the creation process. [Deep Listening Anyang Residency] that was planned in that context is a listening training and a concert with a modern musician Pauline Oliveros. The artist explains it is “Listening to all sounds of the world through every possible method” for Pauline Oliveros’ concept of Deep Listening, which is in line with “Listening through each other” that is one of the 4th APAP’s slogan. Pauline Oliveros carefully selected her main scores from her text score collection [Pauline Oliveros Text Score Collection] (Deep Listening Publication, 2013) that took all her life to create for this project, and the participants experienced collaborative creation in Jungchosa Temple in Chung Up Kim Museum and Anyang Art Park that are central places of the 4th APAP. All this process was recorded with video filming and sound recording, and this video and sound along with a program book and text score used in the workshop, and two live videos of Pauline Oliveros’ performances were featured in the exhibit.
