Kim Younjung is paying attention to the contradictions between human development for a convenient life and the factors that occur in this process that pose a threat to the environment and remain as a new solution. In this project, the theme was water, which is considered the most important for human life. Convenience stores, supermarkets, vending machines and other convenience stores which sell water are convenient for us to buy and consume water when we feel thirsty. However, many plastic bottles that have been emptied after drinking up water fall into environmental problems and become double-faced. In response, Kim Younjung will install a tower-shaped steel structure and attach empty plastic bottles to express the shape of the letter ‘water’ and explain the rest in the artist’s shaping language for life and the environment. The artworks set up outside the café on the first floor of Anyang Museum are seriously worrying about the senseless development that is being carried out for convenience.
